The central mission of Government House is to support the constitutional function of the Governor as the Head of State’s representative in the legislative, appointment and administrative process of the government of Western Australia.
It is however more than this.
Above all Government House belongs to the people.
It is a venue for presenting and advocating for their interest in creativity, community building, economic advance and security.
It is a venue which embellishes and acknowledges the work of our volunteering agencies, our scientific research, our educational attainments, our sacrificing veterans and defence forces.
It is there for occasions and at all occasions to recognise the original custodians of the land both of the House and Western Australia generally.
It is to strengthen our community.
The Honourable Kim Beazley AC, Governor of Western Australia
