The Governor met with the Hon Kerry Sanderson AC, Chair, WA Parks Foundation. Ms Sanderson launched the WA Parks Foundation during her term as Governor to support our national parks and conservation areas.

The Foundation’s work in keeping the more than 100 national parks and 17 marine parks at the forefront of our thinking is a noble effort, not simply to maintain heritage but to enhance them as assets to our tourism industry.

Former Governor Sanderson is keen on walking all of them, setting an example I do not intend to follow.

In the evening, the Governor attended the opening of Perth Festival at Chevron Gardens, Elizabeth Quay.

Perth Festival has officially begun. As Patron I encourage everyone to discover the hundreds of free and ticketed events on offer around the city, from now until Sunday 3rd March.
