| The Ballroom, designed and built under the supervision of the Government Architect John M Grainger in 1899, is a large proportioned space in the Classic Revival style, somewhat different from the Gothic Revival style of the House itself. A Supper Room of the same dimensions as the Ballroom is located downstairs.
The Ballroom has been the scene of many grand occasions such as Receptions, Balls for visiting Royalty and Investitures by The Queen and Governors. It is still frequently used for official and social functions. The Government House Ballroom, Perth is unique amongst Australia's Government Houses in that it is available for hire.
