On this day, at Government House, His Excellency Dr Ken Michael, AC, Governor of Western Australia, swore in Mr J Staude as a Commissioner of the District Court of WA, followed by Mr S G Scott as a Judge of the District Court of WA. Later that morning, the Governor received Mr G Pike, Clerk of the Executive Council. In the evening, the Governor and Mrs Michael attended the WA Wine Press Club Annual Jack Mann Memorial Dinner.
